Robin Lane

Happy Wednesday

We are so excited to share a recently completed project with you guys. We know it has been awhile, but with the current state of the world, we are finally getting some extra time to update our blog!  This post is a photo tour of our Robin Lane Project.

When this client reached out wanting to refresh several spaces in her beautiful home, we knew it was going to be a lot of fun. She has great taste already, so we had a pretty good place to start.

Study

When we first met and looked at her study, she told us that she actually spends a lot of time in this room and wanted an updated look with a feminine feel. We decided the dark wood cabinetry and cream colored walls were making the space feel stuffy and dated. One of the first things we noticed coming into her house was her amazing entry that already had a beautiful asian wallpaper and this deep green paint color on the trim. It took a little convincing, but we were so excited that she agreed to continue that color into this space on all of the surfaces that were previously stained brown.

Our client also wanted this space to function as a secondary den where her grandchildren could feel comfortable watching TV. In order to accomplish this, we shifted her desk away from the bay window, so that she could admire the view. We also added two swivel rockers, so that the kids could hang out in the room with her. Swivel chairs are a great place to add pattern to a room, and with the addition of the fun green paint color, we really felt that these chairs needed to be unique. We have had our eye on this Anna French Fairbanks fabric for some time and knew that the pattern and the colorway would be a perfect fit.

Powder Bathroom

The powder bathroom is located directly across from the entrance to the study. Tying these two spaces together was an easy coordination with this Anna French Cleo Vine wallpaper from the same collection as the custom swivel chair fabric.

Guest Bedroom 1

We really lucked out that our client already had these amazing geode lamps on the bedside tables in her first guest bedroom. We knew that we not only wanted to keep them in the space but also play off of them to make them more important to the room. The coloring of the natural stone led us to this Hodsoll McKenzie floral fabric that we used to make new custom pillow shams and reupholster the bench at the end of the bed.

Guest Bedroom 2

Her second guest bedroom had so many interesting things but we ultimately felt that it didn't match our client's style or the rooms around it. We were able to repurpose the fabric from her bedspread to make a long boudoir pillow for the bed as well as a square pillow and cording for the chair by the windows. Adding the acrylic stools from Chelsea House and the linen covered nightstands from Bungalow 5, gave this room the update it needed. We continued the blue on blue look with the botanical prints over the bed and the antique blue and white vases by the window. The floating acrylic shelves that the vases rest on coordinate with the table lamp bases as well as acrylic stools at the foot of the bed.
